Q: How to cancel the ink monitor alarm in Canon MX310
A: We have done it like this
Canon MX310 series al in one multifunction unit is a beautiful machine but when it comes to replacing
the empty ink cartridge we have to pay a premium price for the new one .There is a better way!!!
For fraction of cost of the new cartridge we can buy just the refill ink and refill the old cartridges
What is usually a quite good saving specially on the log run.
But there is a catch . The machine still thinks that the cartridge is empty and stubbornly stops
Printing and the yellow alarm light is on.What to do now ?

On the front panel of the printer we can see this:
The yellow alarm light is on
Many times we would like to keep printing Black only but since the Color is empty
the alarm is on and we can not continue.If we refill the cartridges the alarm is still on.
One solution is to switch of the ink monitoring function and keep using the printer till the ink
runs out or reset (initialize) the machine what is just a pain to do it every time the ink runs out.
So if you happy to bypass the ink monitoring alarm hold the Stop/Reset button and by pushing
The OK button the yellow light goes off.On the LCD screen you’ll get a message “Ink level unknown”
Well I would just say “OK Boss” and I’d go on with my printing business.
