Q: How to disable windows start up sound
A: We have done it like this
Evry time at boot up or turn off the notebook or PC, there is a musical sound as it powers up,
just as the logo shows up or before it gets to Windows. How do we disable this sound or music ?
It's very distracting when in a business meeting or classroom we do not want to cause any
interruptions

Click on Start select Control Panel then Sounds and Audio Devices.
Click on the "Sounds" tab and it'll look like this:
Scroll down to find Start Windows
and Windows Logon:
and Windows Logon:
Click on drop down menu and select different sound or to disable it completely,
Select (none).
Select (none).
The same way you can change or disable Windows logoff
